Understanding Chronic Fatigue/Fibromyalgia

Chronic fatigue is characterized by severe exhaustion that lasts for months on end.  Sufferers of this disease can have memory problems, trouble sleeping, muscle pain, headaches, sore throat and suffer from malaise.

Fibromyalgia is associated with pain in the joints and is caused by a dysfunctional immune system.  People with this disease also often suffer from fatigue and insomnia. A deficiency of certain nutrients can contribute to the severity of fibromyalgia. This disease develops very slowly over the years making it very difficult to diagnose.

Both these ailments need medical attention, as they may occur in different levels of severity. And in reality, they are difficult to diagnose. Currently, there are no definite laboratory tests to confirm them. That's why most of the doctors consider an all-inclusive approach to the disease, including the use of alternative medicines. Most of the time, it is up to the patient to determine which medication does them better.

Treating chronic fatigue / fibromyalgia should be done as soon as you see symptoms appear.  Eating a nutritious diet with foods rich in vitamin B and the appropriate supplements is key to combating symptoms.

Another way to relieve fatigue is by getting enough peaceful sleep. People with chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia have difficulty sleeping. And even if they do get to sleep, it is not as refreshing as it should be.

Addressing the aches and pains of these diseases needs to be done and can be accomplished through or herbs or prescription medications.  Your doctor should be able to give you guidance as to what needs to be prescribed and you may need to experiment less different medications (under the guidance of a medical professional)  before you find one that works right for you.
